I can't believe it's been as long as it has since I've written. It's even harder to believe people have actually asked me when I was going to get back at it again. You would think that after a year there would be so much to say. Let's see....oh yeah, I was fired from my job of 16 years for insubordination. Only took them 16 years to come up with that? In the state of Pennsylvania is OK to fire someone without any reason actually. For those that wanted to know.....let's just say that if your boss trashes you to vendors/clients/customers in correspondence and you have the audacity to confront them, THAT is called insubordination and grounds to be fired.
Actually it was a major relief once the compensation started and my financial state was put in order. I no longer purchased Tylenol in the 500 count bottles and to say that it really felt like a weight (STRESS) was lifted off my shoulders is an understatement. How many people out there are working in jobs that they like but with people/for people that don't appreciate what you do ? How many people are working 50-60 hours a week and not getting so much as a thank you ? Do you work someplace where if you don't eat lunch in the lunchroom you are the topic at lunch? Do you work with someone whose head is so far up the managers ass they see thru one set of eyes? Are you part of the "in" crowd.? How many of you have heard how Lucky you are to have a job ?
Well listen up.....if that's the kind of job you have you are not so lucky. Lucky is getting the hell out!
You've heard the old cliche - when one door closes another one opens - and even if it doesn't open right away, it does open. And I can honestly say the air on this side of the door is so much fresher!
My head is clear again and hopefully I won't make the same mistakes thinking the people I work with are more than just associates. Keeping my "first impression" sense about me I will try not to get involved in the Drama that is the workplace.
